In this role she supports Mrs Machel her in advocacy work around child health and nutrition, education, women\u2019s economic empowerment, as well as leadership and good governance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt is an absolute blessing and privilege to work for the inspiring Mama Gra\u00e7a Machel and support her in her global human rights advocacy efforts. I am also honoured to help advance the missions of Ashoka Southern Africa, Ngalo Foundation, and Safe Hands for Girls Foundation in my capacity as board member of these noble organizations that are accelerating social change in Africa. This MIPAD recognition instils in me an even greater responsibility, in the words of Mama Gra\u00e7a, to <strong>\u201cdo bigger, do better, do differently,\u201d-<\/strong><\/em> Leila Akahloun.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MIPAD identifies high achievers of African descent in public and private sectors from all around the world as a progressive network of relevant actors to join together in the spirit of recognition, justice and development of Africa, it&#8217;s people on the continent and across it&#8217;s Diaspora.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Congratulations Andia Chakava 2018 CEO Global winner!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload size-medium wp-image-2435 alignleft\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27300%27%20height%3D%27275%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20300%20275%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27300%27%20height%3D%27275%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/test.gbstudio.co.za\/gmt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/andia-2-300x275.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" \/>\u00a0\u201cWhatever we do, if there is passion, purpose and perseverance the profit will come,\u201d- <\/em>Andia Chakava<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are happy to celebrate Andia for being recognised as Africa\u2019s Most Influential Women in Business and Government during this year\u2019s annual CEO Global Pan African Award that showcases Africa\u2019s most influential women across the continent.<\/p>\n<p>These women are identified through a peer-driven nomination and a multi-tier judging process which recognizes the best women that are making impact and are key in future successes across the continent. Andia was awarded the Most Influential Woman under the Financial Services category.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cThe fact that this award has been given is a recognition of all the efforts that we have done within the <\/em><em>Gra\u00e7a Machel Trust<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>to draw attention to this issue and to mobilize capital from existing and new financial providers to serve this market through the creation of a special purpose investment vehicle which we are in the process of developing.\u201d<\/em> Andia Chakava<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Andia Chakava is the Investment Director for Gra\u00e7a Machel Trust who has dedicated the last two years of her career discussing and promoting gender lens investment, which sheds more light on the untapped investment opportunities that are available for Africa&#8217;s women entrepreneurs in different sectors. It is an honour to have her as part champion of the Trust\u2019s Women in Media Network and we appreciate the role she takes in ensuring issues of human rights, dignity and positive rights become a norm on the African continent. Commenting about her appointment, she said she is very honoured to be part of the disruptive board which encompasses of people from all walks of life who represent different faces of activism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cEvery human has rights. And every human has the responsibility to uphold her rights and those of others. We will not achieve dignified housing without architects and contractors who believe this to be a right. Nor will we ensure access to adequate nutritious food unless farmers and people in agribusiness stand for food as a human right.
